We are fortunate enough to have strong relationships with some of the top wineries in the world. Our farm being in one of California’s finest wine producing regions makes this an easy undertaking. Surrounded by hills covered with vineyards it is important to us that we make cheeses that are wine friendly. We feel our family of cheeses can appeal to every palate. If you prefer white or red, sweet or dry; we have a match for you!

Below are some suggestions of the varietals of wines we have enjoyed serving with our cheeses. Use this as a guideline. We encourage you to experiment and have fun!

Carmody
This cheese has great milk flavors like butter. The creamy texture also allows it to coat the palate and soften harsh tannins found in big reds. We have found our favorite combination to be with barrel-fermented Chardonnay. It is like a double dose of goodness.

San Andreas
The nutty earthiness of this cheese breaks the rule that no red wines pair with cheese. We have found it stands up beautifully to Pinot Noir, Merlot, Zinfandel and our favorite pairing is the California Cabernet.

Pepato
Big reds like Zinfandel tend to have notes of pepper making a lovely marriage with our Pepato. If you prefer a white wine, try it with a wine that has a little sweetness such as an off-dry Riesling or Rose to contrast the spiciness.

Crescenza
This is where the fun begins because this cheese has many applications complimenting a lot of wines. When it is young and milky it pairs well with a rounded Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. For a divine experience, try it with a Champagne or Sparkling wine. As it ages it becomes tangy and acidic matching well with a crisp white wine like Pinot Grigio, dry Riesling or Rose. We suggest letting this cheese be your “wild card” and explore.
